What Hygiene Busters can do to help you…

Here at Hygiene Busters, we have vast experience of working with different situations and clients each with their own set of requirements. It goes without saying that we are all now dealing with a challenge we could not have envisaged. However, we feel our experience, structure and committed team will allow us to provide all our customers with a level of service the Busters Group is found upon – giving 100% and that little bit more.

We understand that whilst it is imperative for as many businesses to turn to home working, this isn’t going to be possible for all industries/professions, and that’s why businesses and local councils are turning to Hygiene Busters to help them protect their customers/employees and sub-contractors on a daily basis.

Taking guidance from Public Health England we now have a system in place for providing a full disinfectant service for customers who are looking for that extra level of protection and reassurance, that they are doing everything they can to protect the people around them.

Taking our existing cleaning service to another level we can offer the option of ‘Electrostatic 3d spraying’ or ‘Ultra Low Volume spraying’ both of these options provide an efficient and effective way of disinfecting your workspace.

Ultra-Low Volume spraying – fogging

The World Health Organisation defines ULV as follows:

“Ultra-Low Volume spraying utilises the minimum volume of chosen formulation required to produce the desired biological effect with maximum economy” Using special formulations, applied through dedicated application equipment, ULV programmes achieve this.

Liquids are passed through a specifically designed unit, which generates an airborne mist of droplets. These droplets diffuse through the treated area and settle out onto surfaces, meaning that the material used will be active both as a space spray and a surface spray.

The key to successful use of ULV is the production of the optimum size of spray droplet. It must be small enough to remain airborne without being too small to hit the target – research has shown the optimum droplet size to be around 15 microns.

The benefits of ULV

These droplets are small enough to be carried on air currents into small cracks and crevices that are hard to reach using conventional treatments yet still heavy enough to settle out within an hour, so that treated areas can be re-entered with the minimum of delay after decontamination.

Conventional sprays produce large droplets (over 80 microns) that quickly fall out of the air and carry a high concentration of liquid that often leaves an unsightly deposit or unpleasant odour.

Electrostatic spraying

Electrostatics is the process of adding an electrical charge to the liquid droplets when they are sprayed. This makes the droplet electrically stronger than the surface or the item you are treating. Just like magnets, they are drawn to each other and attach when one surface is more positively charged than the other.

This is important because the liquid agents we choose work best when they are given an opportunity to electrically attach to a surface. Treating three-dimensional surfaces effectively is generally not possible without leveraging a liquid adhesion technology like electrostatics.

This patented technology enables the electrical charge to be applied inside the droplet instead of attaching it to the outside of the droplet. This enables the droplets to keep their charge for longer and ensures that you get the full effect of the electrostatic technology.

Areas suitable for ULV/Electrostatic spraying

Both systems can be used against a wide range of micro-organisms in a variety of situations.

The range of areas suitable for ULV/Electrostatic applications are huge, examples of which are:

• Domestic and commercial areas
• Waste Handling
• Food preparation areas
• Vehicles
• Warehouses and storage facilities
• Animal husbandry

Whether we are using ULV or Electrostatic spraying systems we need to ensure the product/chemicals we are using are correct for the application. Using a specialist disinfectant that has demonstrated virucidal activity relevant to enveloped viruses is a crucial part of the decontamination process. (Full Data Safety Sheets for the chemicals we use are available)
